This weekend marked the end of the third last race of the F1 calendar. The race took place in Qatar, with Lewis Hamilton clinching first place, cutting down the lead between him and Max Verstappen for the WDC. Qatar as a country is trying very hard to create a presence in the sporting world, and due to this, they host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which takes place exactly one year from the date of the race in Qatar. To celebrate this event, F1 and FIFA combined to unite fans in the effort to create a bigger sporting event. To do this, they had the head of FIFA and F1 to stand together and take a photo with the trophies their body awards. Another collaboration they did, was invite old soccer legends and current F1 stars to have a penalty shootout together. This video was posted on F1’s youtube channel.
